Program Duration : 06 Months (Theory) + 03 Months (Internship)

For whom:

• Any individual interested in working as a care giver locally or in a foreign country
• Experienced care workers who want to progress into team leader, supervisor, or senior support worker positions.
• Healthcare assistants or support workers aiming to take on more responsibility in decision-making, care planning, and leading staff.
• People in health and social care settings (e.g., nursing homes, hospitals, community care, domiciliary care)
who want to develop advanced practical skills along with leadership and management competence.

Modules: 

13 theory modules and 3 months internship in a recognized healthcare institute.

• Introduction to caregiver

• Communication Skills for Workplace

• Domestic affairs of the client

• Preparation of living area for the elder

• Personal Hygiene and appearance of the client

• Nutritional status of the client

• Administration of drugs medication

 • Care of the client with physical and mental diseases

• Checking and recording vital signs

• Care of elderly client

• Team work Language Literacy

• Language Literacy and Numeracy Occupational Health, Safety and  Environmental protections

 

  • Classes will be conducted in both English & Sinhala.
  • Weekend and one weekday.
  • Practical done at the same location.
  • Internship for 3 months in a certified health care institute/elderly home.
  • This course is for both male & female students.

Entry Qualification: Studies up to O/Level
